Raymond DeFade Sr BIO
Ray DeFade has earned a reputation as an outstanding musician,
composer, arranger and music educator. He organized and directed the
first Duquesne University Jazz Ensemble and was a pioneer in the
development of high school stage bands. Ray’s resume also includes tours
with Bobby Vinton, Dick Clarke and the Glenn Miller Orchestra. He was a
founding member of the highly successful The Steel City Stompers, and
performed locally with numerous groups including Jimmy Beaumont and
the Skyliners and the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops Orchestra.
