BACKGROUND and EDUCATION
Born in San Francisco, CA. Graduated McClatchy High School in Sacramento, CA. Attended Los Angeles Valley College and San Jose State University.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND AWARDS
Outstanding career as a recording engineer/re-recording mixer. Accomplishments include more than 25 Gold and Platinum albums with major recording artists from Rock, Pop, R&B, and Country Music. Sales of engineered albums and CDs top 75 million units and represent over 450 million dollars in sales. Records engineered received Grammy nominations in 10 different categories including Album of the Year (1976) for Boz Scaggs’ Silk Degrees. Received both the 3M Scotty Award (twice) and the Ampex Golden Reel Award (4 times) for engineering excellence. Since expanding into motion pictures and television in 1990, have received a BAFTA (British Academy Awards) nomination for best sound for the movie The Commitments. Have also received 6 MPSE (Motion Picture Sound Editors Society) Golden Reel Awards nominations for best sound including four wins. In 2001 received 2 Emmy (Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) nominations for The Sopranos and the Showtime original movie Dirty Pictures. Further enhancing 2001 were 2 CAS (Cinema Audio Society) nominations for The Sopranos and Dirty Pictures. With the gold and platinum records, Emmy nominations, Golden Reel awards, CAS nominations, 3M Scotty and Ampex Golden reel awards, and 450 million dollars in record sales, you have one of the most recognizable names in the sound-mixing industry, and a long list of satisfied clients.
