Tim Milko BIO
Tim Milko – Audio Engineer, Musician, and Educator
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Tim Milko discovered his passion for music in
middle school when he began playing guitar. Under the guidance of Vito
DiSalvo, he spent four years studying music technology and music theory
at West Mifflin High School, graduating in 1999. He quickly entered the
professional audio world as a roadie and soon after became an assistant
audio engineer under Ed “Duke” Dukstein at MHM Productions and Mifflin
Hills Music.
Tim continued his education at Duquesne University, earning a Bachelor of
Arts in Music Technology and Audio Engineering in 2003. In 2008, while
pursuing a certification in Music Education at Carnegie Mellon University,
Tim was hired as a full-time music teacher by the West Mifflin Area School
District. He recently completed his 17th year in that role, where he remains
committed to fostering the next generation of musicians.
From 2008 to 2014, Tim expanded his performance career as the guitarist,
vocalist, and live sound engineer for the group WE THREE. In 2009, he
founded Gitano Productions LLC, offering DJ services, live sound
reinforcement, lighting, and audio/visual support for a wide range of artists
and events.
Tim’s dedication to community service is evident in his ongoing work with
Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, where he has served as
the lead sound technician for both in-person and live-streamed services
since 2018.
Over the years, Tim has collaborated with a wide array of artists and
organizations, including Benny Benack Jr., Benny Benack III, Jim
Guerra, Dr. Zoot, Airborne, Christian Beck, Pure Gold, The Vogues,
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Jonny Good—bassist for
Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Joe Jonas.
With deep roots in Pittsburgh’s music scene and a lifelong commitment to
sound, performance, and education, Tim Milko continues to shape the
region’s musical landscape both on and off the stage.
